Looks like Huggins also started "Land Management Service and Supply, LLC" in the latter part of 2023. Another name to be on the lookout for. Not saying it's related to hunting. Just pointing it out for anybody that has a business or land that may use a "business" of this "type".

This is my personal experience. You be the judge of whether you choose to do business with them. We booked a hunt with them earlier this year in the spring. Total cost was $2500.00 each and you could harvest one buck and one doe and included food and lodging. They advertise many different exotics on the 6 ranches they hunt. They put us on a low fence ranch. Upon showing up to the hunt we were instructed to go down to the feed store to pick up feed because there feeders hadn’t been working because a bull was knocking them over. We were a little irritated but did it anyways. During the 2 nights/3 days we hunted multiple different spots and didn’t see a single exotic. We spoke with Scott, the owner, and we’re able to rebook but would have to pay for the lodging/food again. We asked if we could get booked in a high fence in hopes of a better chance. We were supposed to be rebooked around June/July but after many attempts finally got rebooked October 1-3. When we show up to the location he then proceeds to tell us that they had double booked and asked if we were ok to hunt/stay at another property for the first night and asked if we could provide our own food. The first night he put us in a stand. We saw nothing but a dog running around. The next days he put us on the ranch we were supposed to hunt but put us in blinds outside of the high fence area. Again we see nothing. Only time we were able to hunt in the high fence was driving around during the day. We were able to jump a axis buck on the last day but didn’t have time for a shot. We didn’t get fed at all on the rebooking because his cook “called in”. At the end of the day there was 2 of use on the hunt and neither had a chance for a shot at something. But we did receive a picture from him that a hunter harvested a axis buck from a blind inside the high fence which he never allowed us to hunt from.

It is now December, no hunting, lies and lies about how the ranch is not fit for hunting. Docusign wasting my time, this guy is an absolute thief and uses the Christian label to steal people's money. All my son wanted for Christmas was to go hunting and this man stole that. Went and purchased a side by side because Scott said we needed one for the lease. What a waste of so much time for this guy to play his game.
Scott Huggins with Adventures, missions, & retreats is a total con-Man and scammer. He suckered us in with smooth talk. Honesty he sounds like a super nice guy on the phone but dose not Deliver. He took our money upfront. We paid him on the website after how nice he seemed on the phone. We actually found him on Texas parks and wildlife.

He took our money upfront. We paid him on the website after how nice he seemed on the phone. We actually found him on Texas parks and wildlife. I have called there Fraud department and reported him. He showed us a staged lease that had blinds on it and told us there was hunters so it would be several months before we could get on. The week before we where suppose to move on he said he talk to the property owner and they where doing a Burn that never did. Showed us another property…. We agreed. Asked him several times if we where good when he told us we could move on and he kept having really strange responses. That’s when we did our research and saw all the people he Screwed over. Sooo we knew it was going to be something September 1st /date we where suppose to move on. Sure enough He called and said Land owner was Selling. What a lier!! I had to threaten to bury him in court cost to get him to pay our money back. Beware he uses the ministry name to get you to trust him.
I’ve wrestled with this one and putting it out there. But if it saves a fellow member from getting mixed up with him I’d like to prevent it. I was fully aware of the bad press with this guy but my company wanted a corporate lease and ran across a property he had in Menard. I warned them to not risk it but a few guys met up with him and he sure convinced them he was an ok fellow. So they inked a deal and cut a check, set to take over Sept 1. Well that day came around and the excuses began, then he comes out this week and says it ain’t gonna happen. Said he might be able to put us on something else but we asked for money back. Did some digging and found out he leased same pasture to another group the week after us, also paid in full. So I guess we will hope for the best and try to recoup the funds. Moral of the story, stay away from wolf in sheeps clothing.
Interesting fellow for sure and I will not do business with him again. We had a lease in palo pinto county that we were leaving due to price/rules and found one of his about 2 miles away. Seemed like a no brainer since it was so close. Went ahead and leased it and we were able to move our camp our before the lease term started. The group getting off missed the deadline several times but since we could hunt turkeys at the other lease never worried about the April 30 date that the other group was supposed to get off. Fast forward to May when the official lease period started and went out there one weekend to start setting up, shoot some pigs etc and he told me that he extended the prior group and he would extend our lease period to start June 1. We could not hunt, set up, etc. until then. Of course, had that conversation with him on the phone and he flat out told me if I didn't like it I could get off. We dealt with it but he forgot to tell us of the 30 folks that leased the back half of the property that drove the roads coming and going all the time. When it came time to leave, we had to remind him that he extended the lease period as he was ready for us to leave on the original date. Worst lease I have been on in recent memory. He talks a good game but he is a con man. Always taking from Peter to pay Paul.
He got me too! Probably the same property in Menard that is owned by the Boy Scouts? Supposed to have 12 feeders, 12 blinds for 10 hunters. He supplied the feed, electric and water for RV’s? Yeah, still isn’t ready, luckily I only put down a deposit to see the property. We liked it and wanted to get on but luckily we never signed the lease. Yet I still haven’t seen my deposit back. It has been promised and promised, yet come payday (after numerous unanswered calls and texts) excuse after excuse!! NEVER do business with this guy.
He got my group earlier this year as well. Same property in menard that is owned by the boy scouts. Labor day weekend comes and we are getting ready to head out there and he says we cant come. Property isnt ready. Excuse after excuse lead to us requesting our money back. More excuses and more excuses and finally we had to threaten legal actions on him and he paid our money back. The dude is a true scam artist. that was both affordable and durable. We decided to create a company that would provide just that.

Stay away.
While they 'preach' a good game, I couldn't find anything about what they do (regarding hunting leases/memberships) as ministry-related.
Lots of misrepresentations, lies, and dishonesty.

We paid money (more than I had ever paid for a lease), set up feeders/blinds, and then started seeing all of the misrepresentations, delays, etc. We were able to get our money back because we paid with credit card (on line) and disputed the charges because what was 'sold' to us was never delivered.
It was mid-October by the time it all blew up, so the whole nightmare pretty much cost me the 2018 hunting season (we couldn't find a lease that would work for us after this time).
I have way more I could say, but no room/time right here.

So much to report here - I’ll try to summarize. Adventures, Missions and Retreats is a crooked hunting outfitter that poses as a ministry to men and families. It is certainly not a ministry. There are no missions and retreats at all. The owner has learned the time-honored lesson that if you attach Christianity to a business then you can fool anyone into forking over their money.
I was on a father/son hunt that we bid on in an auction and then I encountered this guy. I remember having a 10 minute conversation with the owner and I was sadly aware that he knew nothing at all about ministry. That’s fine if you don’t care about ministry - but every customer should care if they are buying from a liar.
He posts fake pictures of deer online and sells you hunts that aren’t even available. He takes 50% down without letting anyone see the real property. The company is completely run by one man. I don’t believe the landowners are culpable. I doubt they know what is happening on these places.
The pattern that I found was that he would blast an advertisement for a place with non-existent animals, pack people in like sardines, report fake successes from other hunters in the area and when no one saw the animals they were hoping for he goes awol. He has gone bankrupt a couple of times with this pattern and even moved out of the country. Now he's back somehow. It's all online. Search Texas Hunting forums for more details.
I had my suspicions that is was a scam but I was never able to pin him down. It all came together at a hunting expo that I attended last fall. The group of guys that I was with started talking about a scam hunt that we had been on and we were telling another group of guys what happened. They had a similar story and its didn’t take long to put 2 and 2 together and see that it was the same guy.
He’s been in the business a long time and he know exactly what he’s doing. He knows what to say and how to hide his lies. Don’t be a sucker. Adventures, Missions and retreats is a Fraud!

For a couple weeks he answered his phone and gave me a lot of excuses why he couldn’t pay and I told him that was ok and we would work with him. But now he hasn’t answered his phone for a month and when I looked on here I see it’s not the first time he has taken money or not paid money to people. It looks like there have been several post about him over the years. He always seems to have excuses so I guess that’s his pattern of fraud and theft.
He also has a signed Contract for 5 more deliveries just like the first one, which it is now clear he has no intention of honoring. We have already purchased that inventory to cover his contract.
Just hoping to stop anyone else from getting taken advantage of by Scott Huggins or his Company AMR (Adventure Ministries and Retreats)

I have personal experience with him. Me and a buddy signed up with him to hunt at Walking Cane Ranch, near Caddo (in 2018??).

He definitely over-promised and under-delivered. He seemed (best case scenario) to always be robbing Peter to pay Paul. He repeatedly said he would do/provide certain things, but then I don't believe he could ever do so because he never got the cash.
For example, he promised to provide electricity to a camp site. But, the utility service never got the money from him to do so, so it was never installed.
We had already set up blinds and feeders when it became clear he was not holding up his end. When we confronted him to get our money back, he stalled and said he would refund us when/if he found replacements. Unfortunately for him, his website was set up for credit card payments and we were able to dispute the charges and get our money back without waiting on him.
He definitely tries to leverage 'ministry' connections to make you believe he is an upright guy.
While one could optimistically say problems are attributable to lack of organization, etc., I'm afraid his history would point in another direction.
Wow, so glad someone finally exposed him.
My grandfather purchased an axis hunt from him at a Church auction for over $5,000 for me for my college graduation present.
Long story short, there were no axis on the ranch. We confronted him about it and said we could hunt whitetail. It was a 150 acre high fence trap with poor looking whitetail

Long story short, there were no axis on the ranch. We confronted him about it and said we could hunt whitetail. It was a 150 acre high fence trap with poor looking whitetails and some little scrub bucks. For $5,000 we said no thanks, let's get rebooked. He said he had them at another ranch. We did and went to another ranch and same thing. A few blackbuck in a small high fence trap.
The guy is an absolute POS.
Been there done that. He screwed a whole lot of folks out of a lot of money about 25 years ago on a big ranch in Ft. Mckavett. He is the worst kind of scumbag-one that hides behind is supposed faith.
He got me too. He tried to sell me on his turn key property’s where he has blinds and feeders set up. I told him I was looking for a typical lease and then he sold me on 1200 acres that he was filling 7 other spots on property so 8 total hunters. Bobcat lane was on property line. If anyone out there has paid on same property maybe we can do a group lawsuit against him and let Justice be served.
